A pose stolen from an animal always on the lookout, we cherish the hope of observing it at the edge of a wood without being seen.
The distance smoothes its contours, its graceful presence becomes a mythical figure. The drawing here stylizes the animal form and constrains it, in a search for balance, for quiet symmetry. Stripped of its details, it becomes essential like a calligraphy in volume.
